What it is and who it's for.

Rental Home is built for the owner who rents out their property. It's not a regular home policy: besides protecting the building against fire, water damage or breakages, it shields what you're really risking by renting: getting your rent paid, avoiding a tenant wrecking your property, and having someone to defend you if a legal problem arises.

It's the difference between renting out 'and hoping for the best' and renting with a safety net.

How I work: I look at your specific case — type of property, whether it's furnished, your contract — and we adjust the cover and the guaranteed rental months so you're genuinely protected, without paying more than you should.

What's covered

Main coverage.

Rent default

If your tenant stops paying, the insurer pays you the unpaid rent: 6 or 12 months guaranteed, with a 1-month excess.

Landlord's legal defence

Claiming unpaid rent, handling the eviction process, and legal assistance for your matters as a landlord.

Damage caused by the tenant

Damage to your property — and to the furniture if it's rented furnished — beyond normal wear and tear, including vandalism.

Loss of rental income

If a covered claim leaves the property temporarily uninhabitable, the policy compensates the rent you stop receiving.

Fire, explosion and lightning

The core home protection applied to your rented property.

Water damage

Including locating and repairing the leak.

Civil liability

As the property owner, for damage to third parties arising from the home.

24-hour assistance

Emergency plumbing, locksmith, glazing and electrical work.

Are you the tenant? Is this insurance for you?.

This insurance protects the landlord. If you're the tenant and what you want is to protect your furniture and belongings — and your civil liability if you cause damage to the property — you need contents insurance, simpler and cheaper: Tenant Home. I can set that up for you too: tell me your case and I'll point you in the right direction.

What's at stake when you rent without protection.

A default can last months: between claiming, negotiating and, if needed, evicting, many months can go by without payment, and without being able to rent to someone else. Damage isn't always covered by the deposit — one or two months' deposit can fall well short against serious damage — and the legal process is slow and costly if you handle it alone.

With Rental Home, all three of those fronts are covered from day one. You rent with peace of mind.
