Privacy Policy
Here I explain, in language as clear as possible, what data of yours I handle, what I use it for, who I share it with, and what you can do at any time to control it.

2. What data I collect
I only collect the data you provide me yourself, directly, through:
- The forms on this website (the funeral insurance landing page and the contact page): name, phone number, email, date of birth (when relevant to a quote calculation), postcode, town, and any message or preference you share with me.
- WhatsApp, a phone call or email, when you write to me directly through those channels.
- Any additional data you provide if, later on, you decide to take out a policy with me (the data needed to process it).
I do not collect your data from sources other than you, nor do I buy or cross-reference third-party databases.
3. What I use your data for
- Responding to your enquiry and preparing a personalised quote or proposal for you.
- Managing your policy, if you ultimately decide to take out insurance with me.
- Contacting you through the channel you used (phone, WhatsApp or email) to follow up on your request.
- Complying with legal obligations arising from my activity as an insurance mediator.
I do not use your data to build automated profiles or to make decisions that affect you without human involvement.
4. Legal basis for processing your data
- Your consent, which you give me expressly by ticking the form's checkbox before submitting it.
- The performance of pre-contractual steps at your request, when you ask me for a quote or proposal.
- The performance of a contract, should you go on to take out a policy with me.
- Compliance with legal obligations that apply to me as an insurance mediator registered with the DGSFP.
5. Who I share your data with
As a general rule, your data is not shared with third parties except in the following cases, always limited to what is strictly necessary:
- The relevant insurance company, only if you decide to take out a policy, and only with the data needed to process it.
- Technology providers who help me run this website and handle enquiries: my web hosting provider and, if I activate it, a customer relationship management (CRM) tool to organise my contacts. These providers act as data processors, with the guarantees required by law.
- Public authorities, when there is a legal obligation to provide them with data.
I do not transfer your data outside the European Economic Area, unless one of the providers mentioned above is located outside the EU, in which case it applies the appropriate safeguards required by the GDPR (such as Standard Contractual Clauses).
6. How long I keep your data
- If you write to me through a form and the conversation doesn't lead anywhere, I keep your data only for as long as necessary to handle your enquiry, and I delete it afterwards unless you expressly ask me to keep it or there is a legal obligation to retain it.
- If you take out a policy with me, your data is kept for the entire duration of the contract and, afterwards, for the periods required by commercial, tax and insurance law (generally up to 6 years after the relationship ends).
7. Your rights
At any time you can exercise the following rights over your data:
- Access: find out what data of yours I hold.
- Rectification: correct inaccurate or outdated data.
- Erasure: ask me to delete your data.
- Objection: object to a specific use of your data.
- Restriction: ask me to temporarily restrict processing.
- Portability: receive your data in a format you can transfer to another provider.
How to exercise them? Write to me at micol@miseguros.es stating which right you want to exercise. I will respond within the maximum period set by law.
If at any point you believe I have not handled your data correctly, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
8. Security of your data
I apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or alteration: the data you submit through this website's forms is stored in a space that is not publicly accessible, and access to it is password-protected.
9. Minors
The services on this website are aimed at adults. I do not knowingly collect data from children under 14. If I discover that a minor's data has been provided without the consent of their parents or guardians, I will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
I may update this privacy policy to reflect changes in the law or in how the website operates. If I make any significant changes, I will update the date shown at the top of this page.
