Boat Insurance

Sail with peace of mind: what the law requires, and what your boat deserves

To sail legally you need compulsory liability cover: that’s the essential base. Beyond that, your boat — motorboat, sailboat, inflatable or jet ski — is an investment that deserves real protection: hull, crew and assistance at sea, sized to its value and how you actually use it.

Motorboats, sailboats, inflatables and jet skis · Same-day response · No extra cost for advice
What matters most
  • Compulsory liability cover to sail, always in force
  • Hull damage: theft, fire, breakdown
  • Towing and rescue if you’re stranded at sea
What’s covered

A modular policy, tailored to your boat.

It’s taken out by cover level: only what you choose is included. Here’s what you can add.

Compulsory liability cover

What the law requires to sail: personal injury and property damage to third parties. The essential base.

Voluntary liability cover

Extends the limits of compulsory cover if your boat or activity requires it.

Hull damage

Total loss at market value, breakdowns, theft, fire and damage during transport, hoisting or launching.

Accidents to those on board

Death or disability and medical expenses for people aboard.

Assistance at sea

Towing, rescue and help, as contracted.

Cover is adjusted to the type of boat (inflatable, sail, motor), its length and sailing area. Full details on cover, limits and exclusions are in the General Conditions, which I explain before you take out the policy.

So there are no surprises

What’s not covered.

Sailing outside permitted limitsGeographic area or weather conditions banned by the policy.

Lack of maintenanceWear, corrosion or inherent defects of the boat.

Gross negligenceOvercrowding or a skipper without the required licence.

Full details on cover, limits and exclusions are in the General and Specific Conditions of the policy.
