Extra capital if death results from an accident, including road accidents.

Permanent and total disability (optional)

Capital if you become permanently and totally disabled, including accident-related cases.

Cancer (optional)

Included as part of the policy’s living benefits.

Estate management support

Help with wills, choosing a lawyer and managing your digital legacy.

It also includes companionship and care in case of hospitalisation or immobilisation due to an accident or illness. Full details on sums insured and conditions are in the General Conditions, which I explain before you take out the policy.

So there are no surprises

Frequently asked questions

Before you write to me.

The questions I get asked most. If yours isn’t here, write to me and I’ll answer personally.

What’s the difference between life and funeral insurance? +
Life insurance pays a cash capital to your beneficiaries; funeral insurance covers the funeral service and assistance. They complement each other. See Funeral Insurance →
I’ve been asked for life insurance for my mortgage — do I have to take the bank’s? +
No: you can choose your own. I explain what the policy I propose covers and what is worth checking in the bank’s before you decide. Here's how your rights work and how to switch it, step by step →
Does it cover any cause of death? +
Yes, with the usual exclusions (for example, suicide in the first year). I’ll explain the conditions.
Can I add disability or cancer cover? +
Yes, as optional cover, with their own sums insured and waiting periods.
How much capital do I need? +
It depends on your commitments (mortgage, children, income). We work it out together so you don’t overpay or fall short.
Does it include any living benefits? +
Yes: 24h video medical consultations, dental service, psychological support and estate management help, among others.
At what age can I take out life insurance, and until when can it be renewed? +
You can take it out from the age of legal majority and renew it up to an age limit set by each policy (usually around 70-75, depending on the particular conditions). I’ll confirm the exact range for your case when preparing your quote.
Does the price of life insurance go up every year? +
The premium can be updated at each renewal based on your age and on the capital increase option, if you have it activated. I’ll let you know of any change well in advance, before it applies.
Can I take out life insurance if I have a pre-existing condition? +
In many cases, yes, although it may involve a health questionnaire, a specific exclusion or a premium loading depending on the condition. We review it together before applying for anything, so there are no surprises.
What happens if I stop paying my life insurance? +
If you don’t pay the premium within the set period, the policy can lapse and eventually be cancelled, and you’d lose the cover. If you’re going through a temporary difficulty, let me know before the due date so we can look at options.
Can I change my beneficiary whenever I want? +
Yes, you can change the beneficiary at any time, unless you’ve designated them as irrevocable. It’s a simple process, and it’s worth reviewing after major life changes (marriage, divorce, the birth of a child).
Does life insurance cover death in a traffic accident? +
Yes, the main death cover also applies to traffic accidents, and you can also take out additional specific capital for accidents or for traffic accidents.
What’s the difference between the sum insured and the premium? +
The sum insured is the amount your beneficiaries will receive if a claim occurs; the premium is what you pay periodically to keep that cover active. The two don’t have to be in the same proportion between products.
Do I need a medical examination to take it out? +
It depends on the capital requested and your age: for moderate amounts, a health questionnaire is usually enough; above certain amounts, a medical examination may be requested. I’ll confirm this for your specific case.
Does my mortgage life insurance get cancelled if I switch banks? +
The life insurance is yours, not the bank’s: if you switch mortgage lenders, you decide whether to keep it, adapt it or cancel it. It doesn’t depend on the mortgage itself.
Can I have two life insurance policies at the same time? +
Yes, you can have several life insurance policies running at once (for example, one linked to your mortgage and another for family protection). If a claim occurs, each policy pays its own capital separately.
What happens to my life insurance if I get divorced? +
The policy remains in force, but it’s worth reviewing the designated beneficiary and, if the capital was linked to a shared mortgage, adjusting the cover to your new situation.
Does life insurance include guidance for making a will? +
The estate management service included in the policy offers support with wills and help choosing a lawyer, among other services, to support the family at a difficult time.
How long does it take for the capital to be paid to the beneficiaries? +
Once all the necessary documentation has been submitted (death certificate, beneficiaries’ ID, etc.), payment is usually processed within a few weeks. I support you through the whole process to help move things along.
Is there anything different about life insurance for the self-employed? +
The mechanics of the insurance don’t change, but it is worth sizing the capital bearing in mind that, if something happens to you, both your business and your family lose your income; we work it out together based on your activity.
