The Comprehensive Funeral Plan is the main product in the range: it covers the full funeral service — organising and providing the funeral, cremation or burial as you prefer — and all the paperwork and procedures that follow a death, so your family doesn't have to deal with anything at the worst possible time.

But what really sets it apart is that it's not just for the end: it includes a package of living benefits — video-call doctor, specialists, dentist, travel insurance, cover for your pet and legal advice. It's designed for any age, and you can insure your whole family under one policy.

How I work: we work out together the real sum insured you'd need for your area (a funeral doesn't cost the same everywhere in Spain), and we choose the payment option — increasing, level or mixed — that best fits your age and how you like to plan your spending.

Increasing, level or mixed premium: which suits you?.

The Comprehensive Funeral Plan can be taken out with three different payment options. Increasing premium: the payment is lower at first and rises with age; it usually suits you if you want to start off paying less. Level premium: you pay a stable amount for the whole life of the policy, more predictable in the long run. Mixed premium: combines both approaches to balance an initial lower payment with future stability.

There's no single best option for everyone: it depends on your current age, how long you expect to keep the policy, and how you prefer to plan your spending. I'll walk you through all three with real numbers before you decide.

The Senior Funeral Plan is a single-premium policy designed for older people (as a guide, from around age 71), with more of a social focus. Is the dentist really included, or is it just a one-off emergency? +
It includes dental services for you and your family within the policy, not just a one-off emergency. The exact scope of check-ups and treatments is set out in the terms, which I'll explain before you take it out.
What does the Comprehensive Funeral Plan's travel insurance cover? +
Travel assistance cover for unforeseen events that can come up away from home, within the limits and terms of the policy.
Is the pet cover a full pet insurance policy? +
It's an additional benefit within the Comprehensive Funeral Plan: veterinary assistance and, when the time comes, a cremation service for your pet. If you're looking for fuller veterinary cover (accident, theft, liability), there's a specific Pet insurance policy for that.
What kind of queries does the included legal advice cover? +
Legal questions, contracts, disputes with a landlord or a supplier: you have access to legal advice to consult before taking any step, within the scope set by your policy.
Is there a waiting period on the Comprehensive Funeral Plan? +
Yes, there's an initial waiting period after taking out the policy during which some cover is limited. If death occurs very early in the policy, the benefit may be reduced proportionally as agreed. I'll explain the exact detail according to the current terms.
Up to what age can I take out the Comprehensive Funeral Plan? +
It can be taken out across a wide age range. If your parents or older relatives are above a certain age, the Senior Funeral Plan usually fits better, with terms adapted to that profile; I'll confirm which option makes more sense for each person.
What happens if I move to a different city or province? +
The policy carries on as normal; you just need to update your details, and if the sum insured was set based on the average funeral cost in your previous area, it's worth reviewing it so it stays right for where you live now.
Can I switch from cremation to burial (or the other way round) later on? +
Yes, the stated preference can be updated whenever you like; what matters is recording it so your family doesn't have to decide at a difficult time.
How much does a funeral cost, and how much cover do I need? +
In Spain a funeral costs on average between €3,500 and €5,000 (an indicative market figure that varies by province and type of service). We work out the real sum insured for your area together, so you're not left short or paying too much.
What happens if I stop paying the Comprehensive Funeral Plan premium? +
If payment stops, the policy can be suspended and eventually cancelled, losing the cover. If you're going through a temporary difficulty, let me know before the due date so we can look at your options.
Can I increase the sum insured or add beneficiaries later on? +
Yes, you can usually adjust the sum insured or include more family members if your situation changes. Each change may involve a review of terms or premium, which I'll explain case by case before changing anything.
