Accident Insurance

You’re the engine of your business: if you stop, your income shouldn’t

Protección Emprendedor is accident insurance designed for the self-employed and entrepreneurs: if an accident stops you working, it protects your income with annuity and deferred-indemnity options, not just a single lump sum.

How I work with you
  • Annuity options to protect your income
  • Extra deferred indemnity
  • Advice never costs you more
What’s included

Protection designed for those who rely on themselves.

You don’t have the safety net of an employee: if you have an accident, your income stops. This insurance turns that risk into concrete protection.

Death from accident

Sum insured for beneficiaries, with an option for an extra deferred indemnity.

Permanent disability with annuity

Compensation on a scale, with options for deferred indemnity and an annuity or pension, with continuity to beneficiaries in case of death.

Traffic accident indemnity

Extra compensation if the accident is a road traffic accident.

Protecting your income

Cover designed to protect the income of those who depend on their own activity.

Exclusions include high-risk sports and competitions, and injuries with no demonstrable accidental cause, among others. Full details on exclusions, scales and annuity options are in the General Conditions, which I explain before you take out the policy.

Who it’s for

For the self-employed, entrepreneurs and small business owners.

People whose business depends on their ability to work, who don’t have the safety net of an employee if they have an accident.

About me
Frequently asked questions

Before you write to me.

The questions I get asked most. If yours isn’t here, write to me and I’ll answer personally.

I’m self-employed, what happens if I’m injured and can’t work?
That’s exactly what this is for: disability compensation and annuity options to sustain your income.
How is this different from regular accident insurance?
In its focus on protecting self-employed income (annuities, deferred indemnities), not just a single lump sum.
Does it only cover work accidents?
It covers accidents as defined in the policy; I’ll explain the exact scope (within and outside your work activity).
Can I leave an annuity to my family if I die?
Yes, there are options for deferred indemnity and continuity of the annuity to beneficiaries. We’ll look at it based on your case.
What if I have a traffic accident on my way to work?
It includes an extra indemnity for traffic accidents.
Can I adjust the capital?
Yes, it’s sized to your income and responsibilities.
What happens if I’m self-employed and have an accident outside working hours?
Accident cover doesn’t distinguish between working hours or personal time, unless the policy wording says otherwise; an accident in your daily life also protects your income the same as one during your work activity.
How is the monthly annuity calculated in the event of disability?
It’s sized according to the capital taken out and the annuity option chosen in the particular conditions; we calculate it together based on your real income so the protection is realistic.
For how long is the annuity paid if I become incapacitated?
It depends on the option taken out: it may be paid for a set period, with continuity to your beneficiaries in the event of death. I’ll explain the options available for your profile.
Can I combine a lump-sum indemnity and an annuity at the same time?
Yes, the product allows you to combine disability capital with the deferred indemnity and annuity options, based on whatever best protects your finances.
What happens if I have several businesses or activities as self-employed?
We can size the capital taking into account all of your income as self-employed, not just one specific activity.
Does it cover my business partners, not just me?
The policy is taken out individually on the insured person; if several partners want protection, each one needs their own policy sized to their situation.
What happens if my business stops while I recover from an accident?
That’s exactly what the annuity and deferred indemnity options are for: they aim to sustain your income while you can’t work, although they don’t directly cover the business’s expenses (that’s what Empresas Comercio is for). See Empresas Comercio
Do I need to be registered as self-employed to take it out?
It’s designed for self-employed people and entrepreneurs, so the usual case is being registered as self-employed (RETA); if your situation is different, tell me about it and we’ll see what fits best.
What happens if I have a traffic accident on my way to see a client?
It’s covered as a road traffic accident, and this product also includes an extra specific indemnity for this type of claim.
Can I increase the capital if my business grows?
Yes, at renewal or through an endorsement, the capital taken out can be reviewed and increased as your income evolves.
Does it cover accidents abroad if I travel for work?
Death and disability cover from accident usually also applies outside Spain within the limits of the policy wording; I’ll confirm the exact geographical scope.
What happens if I already receive a State disability pension?
This insurance’s indemnity is compatible with the State benefit and is paid separately; it’s on top of whatever you may receive through Social Security.
Is there a minimum income to take out this insurance?
There’s no strict minimum, but the capital and annuity are sized better the clearer we have your income situation; I’ll help you work it out even if your activity is recent.
What’s the difference between a deferred indemnity and an annuity?
A deferred indemnity is a payment (or payments) after the main capital; an annuity is a periodic income over a set time. We choose whichever combination best sustains your finances if you become incapacitated.
Can I deduct the Protección Emprendedor premium on my tax return?
As a business expense, the premium for an accident insurance tied to your self-employed activity is usually 100% tax-deductible, provided it's linked to your activity, invoiced in your name, and recorded in your accounts. Confirm it with your accountant for your specific situation.
